Vision
We created The Foundation to enhance, restore and improve the quality
of life for all human beings. As individuals and as a family,
we believe that good health is a tremendous blessing, encompassing
both body and soul. The Foundation supports both culture and
science because we know that joy and good health are equally
important components of a strong, vital, satisfying life.
Mission
Our primary mission is to seek out and support experts and institutions
dedicated to enhancing and improving the lives of people afflicted
by mesothelioma, pediatric
diabetes and pediatric leukemia.
Inspired by Karen Peterson’s extraordinary joy, kindness and
empathy, our secondary goal is to create a legacy to benefit society
for future generations by supporting cultural and socially benevolent
pursuits.
If our vision and mission resonate with you, we invite you to
make a contribution to The Foundation.
We promise that your gift will be gratefully received and utilized
for the highest possible good.
Current Efforts
The Foundation is a major supporter of the University
of California, San Francisco (UCSF) for their cancer research
efforts. We are also supporting the Stanford
University Department of Developmental
Biology (Oncology Division) for their diabetes research
efforts. At the same time, we are actively seeking
individuals and other organizations that may be interested in
supporting our foundation to help further our mission.
