We love to travel around the U.S., explore
the world and spread the word about our mission. Check back
here frequently for new additions to the Peterson Family Foundation
scrapbook.
Friends of the Peterson Foundation
As we mentioned earlier, The Foundation also supports cultural and socially benevolent pursuits, because we believe in the power of creativity, beauty and physical fitness to transform our daily lives. Karen loved the elegance, grace and skill of The San Francisco Ballet, so we are an active patron of these talented athletes and artists.
As a family, many our happiest memories are of boogie boarding and surfing together in Hawaii and near our home on the California coast. More than ever, I depend on the ocean for its healing, restorative powers. I swim daily and surf as often as possible with Kort and Eric. Through surfing, I was fortunate to meet Rabbit Kekai. A true legend in the surfing world and the undisputed “King of Hawaiian Surf Lore,” Rabbit has been surfing since 1925. Together with Matthew Murasko, the founder of SURFLIFE surfboards, Rabbit established the Rabbit Kekai Surflife Foundation to promote surfing, support education and spread the spirit of aloha to children. In addition to supporting Rabbit’s Foundation, Kort, Eric and I love to participate in his events.

Peterson Family Foundation attends 2006 World Series
Jeff, Eric, and Kort Peterson of the Peterson Family Foundation had the honor
of attending the 2006 World Series game 3 in St. Louis, MO, where Tony La Russa's
Cardinals defeated the Detroit Tigers 5-0, before going on to capture the 2006
World Series Title. The Peterson Family Foundation is an avid supporter of Tony
LaRussa's Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) which La Russa and his wife, Elaine,
co-founded in 1991 after he rescued a terrified stray cat that ran onto the
field during an A's-Yankees game. Their vision for ARF is an organization that
can not only aid abandoned and homeless animals, but also promote the concept
that people's lives can be enhanced by strengthening the bonds between humans
and animals.
